Clase Azul Mezcal Durango is artisanally made from cenizo agave native to Northern Mexico's semi-arid highlands, its singular richness mirrored in a striking hand-finished decanter. Floral and complex, it's as much objet d'art as spirit, and pairs beautifully with parmesan, orange or white chocolate. A showpiece for the agave devotee on TIPXY.

Tequila lover in real life

"I've had a lot of bottles, and I've never had a burn that prevented me from finishing one. I noticed a review that a man posted, in which he made the exact opposite claim. This is simply untrue. Among my top picks for tequila. With clase Azul, I've never had a negative experience. This tequila goes above and beyond the norm. I advise giving it a shot. This tequila is great. Additionally, the bottles are awesome."

Unexpectedly Complex Smokiness with Smooth Texture

"I intended to aim for a smokey sort of tequila as a classic scotch drinker, which I believe mezcal has successfully accomplished. This is not your typical shot with salt and lemon. It is sophisticated, made to be sipped, and full of pleasant surprises. The only drawback would be the price."

Rolfelle T. (4/5)

This is outstanding mezcal not even tequila

""I'd like to quote my brothers again as follows: "Just remember there is a huge difference between mezcal and tequila and it makes you sound like an idiot when you write a review and say worst tequila i have ever tried. " P. S. I had this mezcal at a pub in Newport Beach while I was waiting for it to be made available; it tastes fantastic and goes nicely with pineapple slices."

Nesrin (5/5)

It's terrible already

"I've tried both popular and rare tequila varieties. My SO gave it to me as a gift. I cracked it open and poured four cocktails for my brother, my girlfriend, a coworker, and myself. We were all in awe of the poor quality of a $300 bottle of tequila. At first, the burn is rather abrupt and has a decaying taste like an old used tire. Very disappointed. However, the bottle is gorgeous."

Watch out for the contents of this bottle.

"Reposado and Clase Azul Plata are two wines I adore. So, being a complete moron, I paid even more cash for Clase Azul Mezcal without really knowing what I was getting. Unfortunately, I'm not at all fond of this spirit. I should have known it was quite earthy and smokey (I didn't do enough research), but I didn't. I therefore don't criticize the product. I imagine it's excellent by mezcal standards. Just be sure you like mezcal before purchasing this item, I'm saying. Unless you are like me and absolutely must have the great black bottle for your collection."

Insigne T. (2/5)

Its just fair, the aftertaste is not really that smooth

"I frequently savor excellent mezcal and tequila. Tequila that is both premium and seasoned has a pleasant and calming quality. The tequila I wanted to taste was out of stock due to the plants being shut down during COVID19, instead Clase Azul Mezcal was suggested. It's at best average, to be honest. It tastes different than any premium I've ever had, and it's hot right out of the bottle. The aftertaste wasn't anything close to being smooth or pleasurable, and the burn was nearly intolerable. A few days later, I had a glass with another tequila acquaintance who had heard excellent things about Clase Azul Mezcal, but he was unable to drink it due to the burn and awful aftertaste. Purchase at your own peril."

Fekla K. (2/5)

Awful considering the cost

"The gentleman working told me that this bottle is supposed to be excellent. It is not smooth at all and has a bad bite. None of us—three of us—who tried it were pleased with the flavor. For $250 a bottle, I would expect something really smooth."

Mónica O. (2/5)

I always keep coming for more

"This is my countless bottle; I've tried a lot of different mezcals; this one is by far my favorite. My first bottle was enjoyed by many friends, including those who had never tried mezcal. AMAZING STUFF was urgently needed."

Niwa P. (5/5)

My worst experience

"This was the worst tequila I've ever tasted, especially coming from the Clase Azul family, and I got it a few weeks ago as a birthday present for someone who had taken a shot."

Fabian H. (1/5)

Just the fact that it has a damage bothers me.

"In addition to wanting the bottle on my bar, I purchased this for the mezcal. Too bad the poor wrapping resulted in damage upon transit."
