An absolutely cracking American whiskey from the Boondocks range, helmed by Dave Scheurich, former master distiller of Woodford Reserve. This expression is made with a combo heavy in corn, along with helpings of rye and malt, and matured for 11 years before bottling.
Light in color but rich, nuanced, and complex, fruitiness and exotic spices enhance some of the subtler aromatic characteristics like the toasted marshmallow oak barrel notes. The mouthfeel is creamy and buttery with a long, pleasant finish. The whiskey is spicy and warm but does not burn and offers a subtle cotton candy sweetness.

Boondocks American Whiskey 95 Proof has already garnered several accolades including a Gold Medal /90 Points from the Los Angeles International Spirits Competition 2016 and was named a Finalist in the Ultimate Spirits Challenge 2016, receiving 92 Points.
Distilleries need plenty of room to operate and good, abundant water sources. Close proximity to grain supplies and to farmers who were willing to feed the spent mash to their livestock were also a must. Therefore, historically, it was prudent and practical to build distilleries in rural areas…or “the boondocks”. Boondocks sources its whiskeys from distilleries that are, for the most part, outside the city limits or in the boondocks.
