Bruichladdich's Bere Barley 2013 is a taste of Scotland's oldest surviving grain, an ancient six-row barley grown on Islay in partnership with Orkney's Agronomy Institute. Distilled unpeated and aged ten years across first-fill bourbon barrels and second-fill Pauillac wine casks, it pours a bright gold with cereal-forward aromas of green fruit and gingerbread spice, building into malty sweetness balanced by soft oak. Bottled at 50% ABV, non-chill filtered. Pour it neat to trace a grain that's been cultivated since the Neolithic era.
