Distilled at Caol Ila in 2002 and matured seventeen years in a first-fill sherry cask, this independent Gordon & MacPhail bottling balances the distillery's maritime peat against dark, fruity sherry influence. Blackcurrant jam and dried banana open the nose, giving way to orange, roasted peanut, and treacle toffee on the palate before a long finish of stewed berries and bonfire embers. Bottled at cask strength (55.30% ABV) and non-chill filtered, it rewards slow sipping neat by the fire or alongside a dark chocolate dessert.
