Bourbon is an American whiskey made from at least 51% corn, aged in new charred oak barrels, distilled to no more than 160 proof, and entered into the barrel at no more than 125 proof. Store bourbon upright in a cool, dark place away from sunlight. The high alcohol content can degrade the cork if stored on its side. An opened bottle stays good for 1–2 years.
