Overview

Bruichladdich's Octomore pushes Islay peat to its outer limit, and the 15.2 edition tempers that intensity with real finesse. Malted to 108.2 ppm and distilled from 100% Scottish barley, it spent five years in second-fill American oak and red wine casks before finishing in first-fill French Cognac casks, then went to bottle unchill-filtered and naturally colored at 57.9% ABV. Expect nutmeg, toasted oak and caramel layered over dry, mineral peat smoke and Octomore's signature floral lift. Pour it neat and let the smoke unfurl slowly, or serve alongside rich charcuterie.
