Mezcal with a backstory as good as the pour: Yola takes its name from Yola Jimenez, who revived her family's agave farm in the Zapotec mountains of San Juan del Río, a couple hours outside Oaxaca City. It's an ensamble of espadín and madrecuixe, double-distilled by an all-women team led by mezcalera Guadalupe Bautista. Expect peppered citrus up front, a curl of soft smoke, and vanilla and spice on a smooth finish. Sip it neat, or let it lift a smoky margarita.
