The second release from Wolves Whiskey's "The Rye Project" is in collaboration with Willett Family Estate. The cork top was inspired by the knob of a baseball bat that is a family heirloom of Jon Buscemi (Wolves co-founder).Wolves picked a 51% rye whiskey from Indiana and aged it for 6 years. Wolves Master Distiller Marko Karakasevic and Willett Master Distiller Drew Kulsveen collaborated to select 6 and 7-year-old barrels with a 74% rye mashbill from the Willett Rickhouses to blend with their 6-year-old Indiana low rye whiskey.
Tasting notes
Nose, notes of oak, vanilla, pepper, dried fruit, butterscotch, copper, floral and spice.
Palate, oak, dried dark fruit, vanilla, butterscotch, angel food cake and an oily mouthfeel.
Finish is medium-short with notes of warm vanilla and rising spice
