Color: Deep amber to burnished copper with mahogany highlights and medium-to-heavy legs.
Nose: Caramel and dark vanilla over toasted corn and cornbread crust, then cinnamon and rye spice, roasted pecan, dark cherry, dried orange peel, charred oak, and a curl of tobacco and leather.
Palate: Sweet corn, brown sugar, and vanilla bean up front; a rye backbone of black pepper, clove, and nutmeg through the middle, with orange zest, dark cherry, cocoa, and toasted nuts. Wheat softens the center, barley lends toasted grain and biscuit.
Body: Full and viscous — pot still weight, kept clean and unaggressive by lautering and a moderate #3 char.
Finish: Long and warm — caramel and cinnamon giving way to black pepper, dark fruit, roasted pecan, tobacco, and oak char in a clean, disciplined fade.
