Wild Turkey almost always bottles at 101 proof, which makes this one a curveball. Distiller's Reserve 13 lands at a softer 91 proof, drawn from barrels aged on the cooler lower floors of the Kentucky rickhouses and originally bottled for the Japanese market. Jimmy and Eddie Russell's thirteen years show up as vanilla, caramel and nutmeg on the nose, then toasted oak, leather and pepper with a clove-laced finish. Pour it neat or over one big cube.
