Wild Horse got its start in 1981 in Templeton, right in Paso Robles wine country, and the winery built its reputation experimenting with grapes most Central Coast producers ignored. This Red Blend leans on Cabernet Sauvignon backed by small amounts of Malbec, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc — the kind of Bordeaux-style layering that gives it blackberry jam, red fruit, and clove-spice notes over firm, elegant tannins and a long finish.
