Overview

German brandy with a story stretching back to 1892, when Hugo Asbach began distilling along the Rhine in Rüdesheim. Barred from calling it Cognac after WWI, Asbach coined a new term for it entirely: Weinbrand. Aged in French Limousin oak, then German oak, it pours amber-gold with notes of apricot, vanilla, and toasted almond, opening into dried fruit and a warm, spiced finish. Sip it neat after dinner, or stir it into a classic Rüdesheimer coffee.
