Named for the year Nearest Green is believed to have barreled his final whiskey before retiring, 1884 carries real history in a Tennessee bottle. Blended by his fifth-generation descendant Victoria Eady Butler, a multiple Master Blender of the Year, this small batch runs 93 proof with a nose of honey, brown sugar, cedar and orange peel. The palate turns to caramel, baking chocolate and cinnamon, finishing long with maple and oak. Sip it neat, or build an old fashioned around it.
