The Rums of Mexico - Cana Dura Rum
Prized for its resilience, the pale yellow-green Caña Dura, also referred to as Caña Fierro, is the most common cane variety found in Cosautlán de Carvajal, Veracruz, where this batch was distilled by fourth-generation aguardientero Marcos López on a five-plate continuous still made of stainless steel and copper. Not only an adroit aguardiente distiller, Marcos also cultivates coffee, limes & citrus honey.
The nose is salty and savory with tapenade, cucumber, watermelon, capers, and lime. The palate brings nectarine skin, golden apples, honey, oat bran, and wet rocks.
