Rye whiskey usually means Kentucky or Canada, so here's a plot twist: this one comes from Brunswick, Melbourne, where The Gospel became Australia's first distillery built solely around rye. It's made from 100% unmalted rye grown on a single farm in South Australia's arid Murray Mallee, double distilled and aged at least two years in new American oak. Expect dark rye bread and toffee on the nose, then caramel, clove and green apple. Sip it neat, or let it anchor an Old Fashioned.
