Bruichladdich's team on Islay set out to bottle the whole island, foraging 22 wild botanicals — heather, gorse, elderflower, wild thistle — alongside nine classics like juniper and angelica. Everything runs through a vintage Lomond still nicknamed Ugly Betty for a slow, low-pressure 17-hour distillation. At 46% ABV, expect resiny pine and juniper up front, softened by parma violet and a faint peppery-liquorice finish. Pour it long over ice with tonic and a sprig of thyme.
