Most island Scotches lean smoky, but Arran's is the exception — distilled at Lochranza with unpeated barley and the island's own spring water. Eighteen years resting in a mix of ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks builds real depth: orchard fruit and toasted oak on the nose, caramelized orange and dark chocolate on the palate, with a long, oak-spiced finish. Bottled at 46% ABV — try it neat, then add a splash of water to open it up.
Tasting notes
Nose: Syrupy peaches, green apple and toasty oak.
Palate: Vanilla rice pudding and brown sugar, with orange blossom, allspice and candied ginger.
Finish: Lots of melted chocolate appears, with citrus peel and bread and butter pudding.
