Glenmorangie's Dr. Bill Lumsden built this Highland single malt around a first-of-its-kind experiment: aging spirit in rare Japanese Mizunara oak alongside classic bourbon and sherry casks, inspired by the sights and flavors of Tokyo. The result is layered and vivid — cracked pepper and bitter cherry meet orange zest, incense, and sweet oak on the finish. Bottled at 46% ABV, it took Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Pour it neat or over a couple of large ice rocks to let the Mizunara spice unfold slowly.
Tasting notes
Nose: Sandalwood, incense, dried cherries, vanilla, star anise, and that trademark Glenmorangie tangy orange note.
Palate: A silky palate reveals more notes of citrus alongside marzipan, fennel, dried fruit, white pepper, toffee apple, and a little cinnamon.
Finish: Mandarin and toasted almonds.
