Australian single malt with a genuinely playful twist: Starward's Melbourne distillery brews its own ginger beer in oak barrels, then finishes this whisky in those very casks. The result pours golden auburn, with ginger, orange and dark chocolate on the nose. The palate brings spicy ginger, vanilla and fresh pineapple, rounded out by raisin and fig, before a warming finish of candied ginger and citrus. Bottled at 48% ABV. Sip it neat, over ice, or in a highball.
