Meet Karia, the graceful Chardonnay from Stag's Leap Wine Cellars — the name comes from a Greek word meaning exactly that. Cool-climate fruit from southern Napa Valley (think Carneros, Coombsville, Oak Knoll) is aged eight months sur lie in French oak, with malolactic kept in check so the fruit stays front and center. Expect white peach, lemon-lime, honeydew, and a whisper of crème brûlée over a velvety, medium body. Pour it with roast chicken, creamy pasta, or a quiet evening.
