Say hello to Arkansas' first-ever bourbon, made grain-to-glass in Little Rock by Rock Town Distillery. The mash leans on locally grown corn and wheat plus a bit of malted barley (82/9/9), double distilled and matured at least two years in small 25-gallon new charred oak barrels coopered right in Arkansas by Gibbs Brothers. Those little barrels mean lots of wood contact. Bottled at 92 proof, it's a wheated pour worth sipping neat, over a big cube, or in an Old Fashioned.
Tasting notes
Nose:
Caramel, crème brulée, vanilla, and some fruit pie cherries, or black currant. Dessert-sweet butterscotch and banana pudding. Sweet vanilla and honey are balanced out by wood and smoke.
Palate: More butterscotch, caramel, and custard notes, with an oily mouthfeel. A hint of baking spice and some light oak.
