Overview

More Info

After two distillations, the Añejo is aged for two years — longer than any tequila in its class. Riazul selected French oak barrels, made from wood in the Citeaux forests of Burgundy and featuring a medium toast.

The Añejo displays subtle hint of agave, driven by delicate flavors of honey, vanilla, dried fruits, and spices.

Astonishingly Good Taste

"Yummy and seamless. With notes of agave, anise, and sweet caramel, the aroma is peppery. distinct from many other anejos. Not the intense agave flavor I usually enjoy, but still very, very excellent. There is a slight sweetness to the aftertaste, but it is not overpowering like many other anejos with additions."

Great but not outstanding tequila

"Although I wouldn't call it great, this tequila is still quite delicious. Depending on your palate, but this is absolutely something you should try. It may be a little odd for me because I don't drink cognac, but it's smooth and yet lacks some flavor. It is absolutely worth the price, in my opinion, but it would also make a wonderful present."

Schuman (4/5)

My favorite, truly outstanding

"With two friends, I conducted a blind taste test. Tapatio Excelencia scored 165. liter - quite good Riazul Anejo: in a blind 3-way test that also included Tapatio Excelencia 165, 3 out of 3 participants chose this. I first learned about Riazul when a friend and I ordered a flight. We pointed to the Riazul and never looked back. liter - no slouch itself. Period. Story over."

I've never had anything better!

"This material is extremely balanced and smooth. This one is delicious to drink thanks to the caramel, vanilla, and butter flavors, as well as the perfect amount of spices and agave. The smoothness with the mildly spicy aftertaste won't get old on you."

Reynard M. (5/5)

Why such high praise

"Initial flavor was good—not overly sweet—but turned harsh without a pleasant aftertaste. For selfish reasons, I won't mention the brand even if I paid less for greater flavor."

Fairbank (3/5)

Cognac barrel-aged

"Cognac barrels were used to age this delightfully smooth anejo, giving it a distinctive flavor. You owe it to yourself to try this if you enjoy drinking tequila and the occasional glass of cognac!"

Mcdaniel (5/5)

It's a precious treasure that nobody knows about.

"Enjoyed this tequila for a long time. It is a smooth drinking pleasure that outperforms a lot of other, more expensive choices. It's a precious find."

Briggs (5/5)

Harsh, uneven, and depressing.

"I ordered this tequila bI ordered this tequila because I had read a lot of positive online and in-person reviews and thought the flavor profile was in line with what I liked in an anejo tequila. However, this tequila is harsh and tastes like rubbing alcohol with a tequila flavor. I can get far better tequila for much less money. Avoid this if you like Don Julio tequilas (blanco, reposado, or anjeo). ecause I had read a lot of positive online and in-person reviews and thought the flavor profile was in line with what I liked in an anejo tequila. Pleasant to sip. similar to a dessert, but not overly sweet!

"I thought the vanilla and fruity smells were pleasant in this. Nice agave flavor with a touch of aftertaste sweetness. It tastes excellent neat as well, but I prefer it with an ice cube."

Harvey B. (4/5)

Cinnamon boosted with steroids

"No way is it normal! It's smooth, but the overpowering explosion of cinnamon is at the bottom of all the tequilas I've tried, so anyone who gave it five stars is not a tequila expert."
