The sixth annual edition in Macallan's Rare Cask series, this single malt is drawn from a hand-selected parcel of rare sherry-seasoned oak casks, giving it a deep ruby-mahogany color. The nose opens with soft vanilla and rich raisin lifted by fresh apple and citrus, while the palate carries sweet raisin into dark chocolate and a light citrus zest, closing on a long, velvety finish. Best poured neat after dinner alongside dark chocolate or dried stone fruit, letting the sherry-cask character unfold slowly.

Chocolates, mixed sweet fruits, nuttiness, honey, and syrup (perhaps maple). The nose has no alcohol at all. This NAS is definitely storing some older content. The palate has some viscosity and a swish of sparkle. The aftertaste is extremely long and is both sweet and peppery. Amazing stuff. 100/100"
