R6 Distillery's Carmela Caramel Flavored Whiskey is a bourbon-based spirit crafted in El Segundo, California, and named for the coastal town of Carmel. The whiskey opens with vanilla, caramel, and sweet corn on the nose, then moves into caramel corn, salted caramel, light chocolate, and a touch of rye spice on the palate, finishing warm with caramel and a hint of cinnamon. It took a bronze medal at the 2020 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Pour it over ice or stir into a caramel old fashioned for an easy dessert-style sipper.
