Purasangre - Blanco Fuerte Tequila
Named after the Spanish word for "thoroughbred," Purasangre is a tequila line built for purists who demand structural integrity and unrelenting flavor. Crafted by the legendary Master Distiller Enrique Fonseca at the iconic Tequileña distillery (NOM 1146), the Blanco Fuerte expression skips the standard dilution phase to deliver an unaged tequila at a robust 43.5% ABV (87 Proof). It is a bold, high-character spirit that puts the raw, magnificent power of Highlands agave on full display.
While a typical blanco tequila is cut with water down to 40% ABV, "Fuerte" (meaning strong or powerful) stays closer to the still's natural proof. That extra 3.5% ABV acts as a flavor amplifier. It binds tightly to the essential oils of the agave plant, resulting in a significantly thicker, oilier mouthfeel and an explosion of crisp, bright aromatics that would otherwise be muted by heavy water dilution.
Nose: An intense, sweet wave of fresh-cooked agave dominates the glass. It is accompanied by bright citrus peel (lime and orange oil), crisp mint, fresh-cut grass, and a deep, briny minerality.
Palate: Full-bodied, rich, and beautifully "chewy." A striking burst of cracked black pepper and baking spices hits the front of the tongue, followed by the deep, honeyed sweetness of roasted agave, an earthy stone-fruit essence, and a touch of anise.
Finish: Exceptionally long, warming, and clean. The alcohol heat is perfectly integrated, leaving a lingering, satisfying trail of herbal green agave, minty freshness, and a soft trace of salinity.
