O.F.T.D. is Master Blender Alexandre Gabriel's answer to the classic dark overproof rum, blending traditions from three islands: smoky Guyanese demerara, funky Jamaican pot-still rum, and rich Barbados rum, refined over more than 1,000 trial batches with a crew of celebrated bartenders. Bottled at a full 138 proof in the old Royal Navy style, it opens with brown sugar, molasses and ripe banana, then turns to cinnamon, oak and chocolate on a long, dry finish. Built for the shaker, it anchors a proper Zombie, Mai Tai or dark daiquiri.
Tasting notes
Nose : Intense and very precise notes of coffee, orange, plum, jam and truffles.
Palate : It bursts with caramel cream, chocolate and vanilla notes. It continues on with cinnamon, raisins, nutmeg, oak and molasses with smoky accents.
Result : Long and lingering with dark chocolate, clove and caramel.
