Nashville Barrel Company's "Seven Eleven" Cask Strength Straight Rye Whiskey is sourced and bottled by the Nashville, Tennessee producer, distilled at MGP in Lawrenceburg, Indiana from a 95% rye, 5% malted barley mash bill and aged a minimum of seven years before bottling uncut at cask strength. Expect spicy clove and stewed fruit up front, then pink peppercorn, cherry, and candied fennel through a long, warming finish. Its bold proof makes it a natural for a single ice cube or a rye-forward Manhattan.

The nose shows that age with notes of seasoned wood, pastry cream, Snickerdoodle cookies, and a generous helping of dried dill. The palate is rich and full-flavored with big notes of brown spices, apple pie filling, and candied ginger. There’s a wonderful balance in this one, and even at cask strength, it’s remarkably approachable with a silky caramel and black pepper finish that begs to be revisited.
