This is grappa with a wine-lover's soul: Mazzetti d'Altavilla distills it from Barbera grape pomace grown in the Monferrato hills of Piedmont, then rests it in oak to soften the edges. Expect a full-bodied nose of dried red berries, plum, and black cherry with a floral, spiced finish. Piedmontese tradition serves it alongside a fresh sage leaf dipped in acacia honey, or after a bowl of risotto.
