If you love Valpolicella that keeps things bright and food-friendly, Masi's Bonacosta is a lovely place to start. Made from Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grown in the classico heart of Veneto, it rests six months in large Slavonian oak casks, with a portion of the Corvina in smaller barrels. Expect ruby-red fruit: fresh cherry and raspberry with a whisper of clove and mint. At 12% ABV, pour it with pasta, pizza, or a weeknight roast.
