Made at Angeac Distillery in France's Charente, near Cognac country, Magellan starts with triple-distilled French wheat, then takes a fourth pass through eleven sundried botanicals—juniper, coriander, cassia, cardamom, clove, nutmeg, grains of paradise, orange peel, licorice. Its pale blue tint comes from iris flowers and root steeped after distillation, lending a soft floral aroma. Bottled at 44%, it leans spice-forward with earthy warmth. Pours beautifully in a gin and tonic or an Aviation.
