Château Magnol has quietly made wine in Bordeaux's Haut-Médoc since the 18th century, and M de Magnol is its second wine — grapes not selected for the grand vin, still grown on that same gravelly vineyard. Barton & Guestier, one of Bordeaux's oldest merchant houses, blends Merlot with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, aging it 12 months in French oak. Expect cherry and raspberry laced with vanilla, velvety tannins, and a long, fruit-driven finish. Serve slightly cool alongside entrecôte or a mushroom risotto.
