Overview

Artisanal mezcal from Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca, where the Mateo family has run their palenque since 1979. Espadín roasted in an earthen pit, crushed by horse-drawn tahona, fermented on wild yeast and twice distilled in copper, then rested eight to ten months in American oak. Caramel, marzipan, soft smoke.
