La Venenosa - Sierra De Amula de Jalisco Mezcal
La Venenosa Sierra de Amula de Jalisco is a handcrafted raicilla produced in the mountainous Sierra de Amula region, one of the most remote and traditionally rooted areas of western Jalisco. This expression is part of the acclaimed La Venenosa project, which highlights distinct raicilla-producing regions and their unique production styles. Sierra de Amula is known for its rugged terrain, wild agave diversity, and deeply traditional distillation methods that reflect generations of artisanal knowledge.
Appearance: Crystal clear with a soft, natural viscosity that reflects its traditional distillation process.
Nose: Earthy and expressive with aromas of roasted agave, wet stone, and light smoke. Herbal notes of green chile, sage, and citrus peel are complemented by subtle floral undertones and tropical fruit.
Palate: Complex and textured with cooked agave sweetness, mineral depth, and herbal intensity. Flavors of roasted pineapple, lime zest, and green herbs are layered with pepper spice, light smoke, and a faint earthy salinity.
Finish: Long and evolving with lingering agave sweetness, herbal spice, and a dry mineral-driven fade characteristic of high-altitude terroir.
