Jura's distillery sits on a Hebridean island where red deer outnumber the roughly 200 human residents about thirty to one — Jura is Norse for "deer island." The 12 Year is distilled in unusually tall stills, then rests twelve years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, building the distillery's fruity, balanced house style: layers of peach, bright citrus, and lightly toasted walnut. Bottled at 40% ABV. Pour it neat or with a splash of water to open the citrus, and let the walnut carry into the finish.
