Sake with a backstory: Hiro Junmai Daiginjo comes from Fujinishiki, a brewery that's been running since 1688 at the foot of Mt. Fuji, where mountain snowmelt feeds the water. The rice here is Yamada-Nishiki, polished all the way down to 40%, and it shows in the glass, soft aromas of cantaloupe and banana giving way to a gentle, fruit-driven sweetness and a clean, smooth finish. At 15% ABV, it's easy to love chilled or poured over ice.
