There's a reason the Oakville stretch of Napa gets talked about like hallowed ground for Cabernet, and Groth has farmed right in the middle of it since 1982. This bottling leads with Cabernet Sauvignon, rounded out by a little Merlot and Petit Verdot, the fruit night-harvested and aged nineteen months in French oak. Expect a deep purple-ruby pour, blueberry pie and raspberry, a whisper of vanilla bean, and fine, grippy tannins. Decant it and pour alongside a hard-seared steak.
