Born from a dream Gérard Bertrand had in 1997 and first released in 2012, Clos d'Ora comes from a nine-hectare walled vineyard in Minervois La Livinière, planted where limestone and marl soils meet. Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Carignan are farmed biodynamically, plowed only by horse between the rows. The result is powerful yet elegant — intense black fruit layered over silky, well-integrated tannins. Pour it alongside slow-braised lamb or aged cheese for an evening built around one exceptional glass.
