George Dickel skips the "e" and does things its own way — this is a single barrel pulled from the distillery's hand-selected program, each bottle individually barrel-numbered. Made in Cascade Hollow, Tennessee, it runs through the sour mash and chill charcoal-mellowing (the Lincoln County Process) that defines the house style. The 9-year expression pours at 103 proof, layering vanilla and caramel over honeyed citrus and toasty, spiced oak. Pour it neat or over a single cube and let it open up.
Tasting notes
Nose: Mint, honey, caramel and oak.
Mouth: Cinnamon spice, caramel.
Finish: Gentle and of medium warmth. Notes of caramel, mint, leather, oak.
