Gentleman's Cut - Player Exclusive 11 Year Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Shacho Edition
The Gentleman’s Cut Player Exclusive Shacho Edition is the most culturally ambitious release to date from NBA legend Stephen Curry’s spirits brand. While previous "Player Exclusive" editions celebrated Curry’s personal on-court milestones, Shacho—the Japanese word for "leader"—looks outward, honoring the spirit of leadership, vision, and humility across all fields.
This 11-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon is a rare bridge between two world-class whiskey traditions. After over a decade of maturing in charred American oak, the bourbon was finished in rare Japanese Mizunara new oak barrels sourced from the Hokkaido prefecture. The result is a high-proof, highly-allocated masterpiece that combines the bold sweetness of American corn with the ethereal, incense-like aromatics of Japan's most coveted wood.
Mizunara oak is notoriously difficult to work with, requiring decades of growth and master-level cooperage. However, the reward is a flavor profile found nowhere else in nature. In the Shacho edition, this wood imparts a "temple-like" complexity, introducing notes of rare aloeswood and sandalwood that dance over the bourbon’s rugged Kentucky backbone.
With only 850 bottles produced globally, the Shacho is a true "unicorn" in the Stephen Curry lineup. Each bottle represents a milestone in craft, presented at a stout 105 proof to ensure the intricate nuances of the Japanese oak are never lost.
Mashbill: 78% Corn, 13% Rye, 9% Malted Barley
Nose: An evocative opening of Kyara incense and sandalwood, followed by delicate layers of toasted coconut, cinnamon bark, and vanilla bean.
Palate: Rich and sophisticated. The 105-proof strength carries heavy flavors of crème brûlée and butterscotch, seamlessly integrated with the spicy, floral, and dry-oak characteristics of the Mizunara finish. Finish: Long and meditative. It leaves a lingering trail of exotic spices, dried citrus peel, and a refined, woody sweetness that demands reflection.
