Duckhorn Vineyards built The Discussion around a decades-long conversation about blending Napa Valley's best varietal lots into one wine. It's a Bordeaux-style red anchored by Cabernet Sauvignon, rounded out with Merlot and a touch of Malbec, with individual lots aged separately in new French oak for eighteen months before being blended and rested further in neutral barrels. Expect layered aromas of dark fruit, fig, and rose petal, with velvety tannins and notes of chocolate and toasted hazelnut. Pour it alongside a well-marbled steak or aged cheese.
