Don Valente's Extra Añejo spends nine years resting in French oak in El Arenal, Jalisco — long enough that it drinks more like a fine reserve spirit than a typical tequila. The color goes dark amber, and the nose leans into cooked agave, toasted almonds, chocolate, vanilla and dried fruit, with fine oak running through every sip. At 40% ABV it's full-bodied and complex rather than sharp. Pour it neat in a snifter and let it sit a minute before the first taste.
