Chateau Montelena's Calistoga estate has been shaping Napa Cabernet since the 1880s, and this bottling shows why the region still matters. Fruit comes from dry-farmed loam vineyards in eastern Calistoga and the Oak Knoll District, blended with a touch of Merlot, then aged 16 months in French and Eastern European oak. Expect blackberry, cassis, and a spice-and-vanilla edge with supple tannins. Pour it alongside a grilled ribeye or aged cheddar.
