Chamucos was dreamed up by an Oscar-nominated Mexican film director and a hand-blown glass artist, and the bottle carries that theatrical streak. Made high in the cool hills of Mazamitla in southern Jalisco, it's distilled from organic agave, given a long seven-to-ten-day fermentation, then rested about eight months in new American white oak. Expect a silky pour of cooked agave, tropical fruit, vanilla and toffee with cinnamon and black pepper. Sip it neat, or let it anchor an unhurried old fashioned.
