This Pomerol comes from a corner of Bordeaux's right bank where some Cabernet Franc vines have been rooted since 1902. Merlot leads the blend, backed by that old-vine Cabernet Franc, and most of it ages in new French oak for about 18 months before bottling. Expect fresh cherry and strawberry fruit with floral, herbal edges — medium-bodied and polished rather than heavy. Pour it alongside roast duck, a well-marbled steak, or mushroom risotto.
