Glögg usually means a pot of spiced wine simmering on a Scandinavian stove — Geijer reimagines it as a spirit. This California liqueur is built on a Swedish family recipe (grandma Maria Charlotta's, born 1889) and distilled in a copper pot still at St. George Spirits in Alameda. Seven ingredients do the work: cardamom, cinnamon, clove, almond, raisin and Seville orange peel over cane sugar. Warm it Viking-style on a cold night, or pour it chilled into a cocktail. Sip something new.
