Cadenhead's Old Raj Dry Gin is a Scottish London Dry-style gin bottled by William Cadenhead's, the independent bottler founded in 1842 and based in Campbeltown. Nine botanicals go into the still — juniper, coriander, Seville orange peel, liquorice, angelica root, orris, cinnamon, cassia, and nutmeg — but the saffron that gives Old Raj its pale golden tint is steeped in after distillation, too delicate to survive the still. Expect an earthy, floral gin with a spicy black pepper and cassia finish. Pour it neat over ice or in a simple gin and tonic to let the saffron show.
