Organic California rye, wheat, and malted barley with Santa Ana award winning water crate the base mash for Blinking Owl Straight Rye whiskey. Once distilled, the whiskey is aged for a minimum of two years in New American charred white oak casks in the beautiful Southern California climate. This rye drinks much more mature than its age showcasing notes of spicy grain, caramel, baking spices and is complex and bold on the palate.
Tasting notes
Nose: Cedar and barrel char, balanced by hints of toffee, rye bread and chilli jam.
Palate: Cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, lemon, orange and oak.
Finish: A hint of dark chocolate, plus more cinnamon.
