Bat Shlomo Vineyards Chardonnay comes from the southern slopes of Mount Carmel near Zichron Ya'akov, Israel, on vineyards first planted for Baron Edmond de Rothschild and replanted in 2010 by Napa-trained winemaker Ari Erle. The wine is barrel-fermented and rests on its lees for about ten months in French oak, a technique that builds a fuller, creamier texture. Expect aromas of pear, apple, and jasmine blossom layered with subtle smoke and spice. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate awarded it 90 points. Pour it alongside roasted chicken or a soft, creamy cheese.
