Long before Cognac took the spotlight, Gascony was quietly making Armagnac, and the Delord family has done it in the village of Lannepax since the 1890s. Their 25-year Bas-Armagnac blends four classic grapes and rests decades in French oak, moving from newer casks to older ones for slow, oxidative depth. Expect candied orange peel, vanilla, dried fruit and toasted walnut, with a long, gently spiced finish. Pour it neat after dinner, or over a single big cube.
