Alexander Amarolo Dry Red is a five-grape blend from Alexander Winery, a boutique estate in Israel's Hefer Valley founded by winemaker Yoram Shalom. Named for Italy's Amarone style, it's built mainly from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, rounded out with Petit Verdot, Grenache, and Mourvedre from the Ben Zimra vineyard, then aged roughly 40 months in oak. Expect a full-bodied glass loaded with dark fruit — blackberry, plum, black currant — alongside notes of espresso and baking spice. Pour it alongside grilled lamb or aged hard cheese to match its weight.
